About WoodSafe

WoodSafe is a certified hazardous waste container made from biocomposite — 80% renewable raw materials instead of fossil plastic. 66% lower CO₂ than the fossil-based equivalent.

Life Sciences and Healthcare holds itself to the highest standard — but that standard has not always extended to the materials behind its products. Waste containers are a starting point: high-volume, fossil-based, incinerated.

WoodSafe is a product of FrostGreen, which stands for an evidence-led, data-backed and transparent approach to sustainable transition in Life Sciences and Healthcare.

Manufacturing partners

WoodSafe's biocomposite material and finished containers come from an established Swedish supply chain — tested, certified, and already producing at scale.

Mälarplast

Mälarplast

Mälarplast is Sweden's greenest plastics company, manufacturing in Eskilstuna. They are a driving force behind the increased use of recycled and bio-based plastic, and work actively to build new circular systems that let plastic be reused multiple times.

WoodComposite Sweden AB — Hylte Mill

WoodComposite Sweden AB

WoodComposite Sweden AB has evolved from a traditional pulp and paper manufacturer into a biocomposite materials leader. The biocomposite used in WoodSafe is produced at their Hylte facility, which has an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons of granulate.
